Emob is a blog about collections of Australian Indigenous material cultural stored in museums, art galleries, universities and private collections all over the world.

Currently there is a large gap in the knowledge of information relating to collections of Australian materials held outside of Australia. The book "Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander collections in overseas museums" by Carol Cooper (1995) is a useful guide to overseas collections and published by the Australian Institute for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies (AIATSIS).

Emob hopes to publish useful links and information about overseas collections for use by the Australian Indigenous community and wider public.
